Library of Things Lighthouse

Can you build a boat with your library card?

Can you borrow a compass?

Can you checkout an Otamatone and take it on a ferry?

Libraries of Things are non-book lending libraries that enable you to do just that.

We are three graduate students at the University of Washington's MLIS prorgram, and we've created this website as the culmination of a class on research design. Over 10 weeks, we examined successful trends and challenges in Library of Things collections affecting longevity and wanted to share those findings here.

We hope that you take a chance to checkout our "Staying Afloat" research report, sign our guestbook, take part in our photo challenge, or check out the resources and templates we've compiled during the course of our study.
